Young Audio Masterclass to offer advice to next generation of media talent

Radiocentre is running a free, live virtual event, Young Audio Masterclass, which will offer budding producers and presenters expert advice from radio and audio professionals on how they can find a career in the media industry.

Taking place at 4pm on Wednesday 15^th July, panellists including radio presenters, a podcast exec and a producer will share how they started out in the industry, what their top tips are for young audio lovers and how there is space for young people from all kinds of backgrounds in the business.

KISS presenter and voice of BBC Sounds Swarzy Macaly, Rozeena Bernard, assistant producer for Steve Wright on BBC Radio 2, Darby Dorras, Executive Producer at Somethin’ Else, and Capital Xtra presenter Remel London, will answer attendees’ questions live during the event, to help increase their understanding of the sector and the opportunities available. The event follows this year’s Young Audio Awards, where radio stars including award ambassadors Matt Edmondson and Mollie King, from BBC Radio 1, plus Hits Radio’s Fleur East, BBC Radio 1’s Greg James, 5 Live’s Laura Whitmore and Radio 2 star Rylan Clark-Neal handed out awards for categories including Rising Talent, School Station of the Year and Best Podcast. The awards, like the Young Audio Masterclass, are open to young people across the UK, with previous nominees hailing from Glasgow, Torbay, Leeds and elsewhere.
