All advertisements “must be prepared with a sense of responsibility to the audience and to society” as required by Rule 1.2 of the BCAP Code. Some examples of unacceptable treatments include ads that promote an unhealthy body image, ads that suggest buying on credit or taking out a short-term, high cost loan is a decision that can be taken lightly or ads that encourage unsafe driving.
