There are detailed rules on charities in Section 16 of the BCAP Code.

Where a third party suggests that a donation will be made as a result of the sale of goods or tickets, the amount each sale generates should be made clear. E.g. if a car dealership is promoting a charity event to raise funds for a local hospice, the ad must state something along the lines of “…and for every ticket/car sold, we’ll donate £50 to…” Claims to donate “profits” are not acceptable.
