Ashley Tabor-King receives CBE in King’s New Year Honours List 

Ashley Tabor-King, the Founder & Executive President of Global, was awarded a CBE for services to Media and Entertainment in the King’s New Year’s Honours List.

Founded in 2007, Global is one to the world’s leading Media and Entertainment groups. It is home to Capital, Heart, Classic FM, LBC, Smooth, Radio X, Capital XTRA, and Gold as well as award-winning podcasts such as The News Agents. It is also the leading Outdoor company in the UK and one of the largest in Europe.

Global also launched Global Academy, a state-of-the-art facility designed to equip students with the technical skills they need to get ahead in broadcast and digital media and break down barriers to entry to the creative industries.

Matt Payton, Radiocentre’s CEO said: “We are delighted to see this recognition for Ashley’s significant contribution to UK media. The audio landscape has changed dramatically since the founding of Global and under his innovation and stewardship their much-loved brands have gone from strength to strength.”

After 60 years in commercial and BBC radio, broadcaster Tony Blackburn was also awarded an OBE for his services to broadcasting and charity.

In the wider advertising industry, Mark Read the Chief Executive of WPP and Josie Dobrin, Co-founder and Executive Chair of Creative Access each received a CBE for services to the creative industries.
