The See Radio Differently podcast opens up about mental health

The latest installment of the See Radio Differently podcast is out now, with a couple of great interviews and all the latest news about commercial radio.

The week’s episode sees our host Beth talk to Audio Always’ MD, Stuart Morgan, and Darby Dorras, Executive Producer at Somethin’ Else, about two very important initiatives.

Both Stuart and Darby worked on Radiocentre’s 60 Second Support series, which launched in April and saw Radiocentre team up with the Royal Foundation’s Heads Together initiative and 10 leading mental health charities to create a new series, airing across more than 100 radio stations, offering advice and activities to support the mental wellbeing of listeners.

Somethin’ Else also produced this year’s Mental Health Minute, which returned for a third time to mark the start of Mental Health Awareness Week on Monday 18th May. The 2020 broadcast featured The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, England captain Harry Kane, singer-songwriter Dua Lipa, actor David Tennant and two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

Taking place the day after the Mental Health Minute aired, Radiocentre’s Tuning In Livestream conference also saw the launch of our newest research, Building Shelf Awareness, which explores the last minute impact radio ads can have on shoppers as they drive to the supermarket. Radiocentre’s Planning Director, Mark Barber, tells Beth more about it.
