Radiocentre’s Tuning In North speakers announced

Radiocentre has lined up poet and author Lemn Sissay to headline its Tuning In North: See Radio Differently event on Wednesday 30 November in Manchester.

The event, which is sold out, is a two-hour morning session in Manchester’s King Street Townhouse . As part of Radiocentre’s See Radio Differently strategic positioning campaign, it will give advertisers and their agencies the chance to spend a couple of hours hearing about the latest trends and opportunities in the rapidly evolving world of radio and audio. Other speakers include Radioplayer’s Michael Hill and Global’s Ryan Rummery.

Radiocentre CEO Siobhan Kenny will open the session with her thoughts on the “state of the radio nation”, before introducing the following guest speakers:

• Lemn Sissay: poet, writer, Chancellor of the University of Manchester and writer of radio plays. He will talk about Manchester, the powerful relationship between radio and audiences and the power of audio lemnsissay.com
• Ryan Rummery, Head of Digital Sales and DAX (Digital Audio Exchange) at Global. Ryan will give the lowdown on DAX and discuss opportunities for programmatic audio thisisdax.com
• On The Eighth, the radio and production experts. The team will present The Power of the North, mapping the audio and radio network from their base at MediaCityUK and highlighting the connections that can be made from clients to listeners ontheeighth.com
• Michael Hill, Founder and MD at Radioplayer. Michael will explain in-car listening, hybrid radio innovation, voice-controlled radio, and much more radioplayer.co.uk
• Tony Walsh, aka Longfella, one of the UK’s most renowned performance poets, will lead an interactive spoken word session including poems about Manchester longfella.co.uk
• Matt Payton, Radiocentre’s Director of External Affairs. Matt will talk about the public value of commercial radio
• Lucy Barrett, Client Director at Radiocentre, will explain why we are asking people to See Radio Differently
• Mark Barber, Radiocentre’s Planning Director, will present Radio: the Brand Multiplier, our latest research project on brand building
• Clare Bowen, Head of Creative Development at Radiocentre will take a look back at the past year from a creative perspective: the work, its place in the world and why it matters.
