Later this year will see the launch of an initiative enabling companies to register websites with the top level domain name of .radio (alongside the usual domains of .co.uk, .com etc).
Radiocentre has been working with colleagues in Europe to ensure commercial radio operators have the opportunity to apply for their own domain name ahead of this launch.
As a result from 22 August any radio related company will be able apply for its own domain name with a listed registrar here or directly with the EBU here (note: these sites are not yet fully operational).
Applications will be assessed by an advisory board (not simply first-come, first-served) and will come at a starting price of 220 Euros a year.
