Reading 107FM has been on air since 2002 and is based at Reading Football Clubs home ground the Madejski Stadium.  Managing Director, Alison Hedges answers questions on the stations challenges, achievments and future plans.

What does your station stand for?
Mature with a fresh attitude

Why is your station like no other station?
We are proud and confident about our identity. We’re not trying to be a clone of any other station and constantly challenge the way we think about radio.

What has been the station’s biggest challenge?
Creating awareness of a new format without a marketing budget. We’ve recently re-positioned the station and the figures  show that was the right move.

Can you describe your average listener?
Someone who thinks young and enjoys life! Being 38 doesn’t always mean a diet of Abba and Duran Duran.

What has been your biggest recent success?
Increasing our audience Year on Year with said zero budget:

By being focused and clutter free. We make everything as simple to understand as we can make it. We aim to engage and entertain more than some of our competitors.
